“An Unexpected Reality” presents Gatecreeper like you’ve never heard them before. The release explores both extremes of tempo, showcasing two completely opposite sides of the band’s musical personality.

Side A features seven short, vicious tracks with a total runtime of under seven minutes. Drawing influence from grindcore, punk, and hardcore, songs like “Starved,” “Rusted Gold,” and “Amputation” rank among the fastest recordings the Arizona death metal band has ever produced.

Side B flips the script entirely. A single 11-minute track titled “Emptiness” delivers Gatecreeper at their slowest and most funeral doom-oriented. Think of it as an extended version of the crushing death-doom closers from Sonoran Depravation and Deserted.

Engineered by Ryan Bram (Homewrecker Studios), mixed by Kurt Ballou (GodCity Studio), and mastered by Alan Douches (West West Side), this release is both sonically massive and stylistically daring.
