Originally released in 2001, “A Life Less Plagued” by Carry On is a defining release in modern hardcore. Recorded by Converge’s Kurt Ballou at GodCity Studios, the album delivers 12 tracks in under 20 minutes.
Frantic tempos, relentless intensity, and cathartic vocals helped establish the record as a blueprint for the 2000s West Coast hardcore movement. It was also the first proper full-length album released by Bridge Nine Records.
After Carry On disbanded, its members helped shape the next wave of California hardcore through bands including Terror, Piece By Piece, Betrayed, and Internal Affairs. Following a 2011 reissue, the album returns to vinyl alongside the band’s run of shows in summer 2026.
