Formed in Brooklyn, NY in 1990, Lament emerged during a transitional period in hardcore as the original wave of New York hardcore evolved into what would later become post-hardcore. Featuring members of Maximum Penalty, Breakdown, Social Disorder, Sarcasm, and First Order, the band combined the raw energy of classic NYHC with a more atmospheric and dynamic approach.

“Drowning Room” captures that evolution through aggressive hardcore structures, shifting tempos, and emotionally driven songwriting. The release reflects the changing sound of the early 1990s New York underground scene.

This edition presents the complete recordings from the original sessions for the first time, including previously unreleased tracks that have been fully remixed and remastered.
