Stalag 13's legacy began in 1981 when original vocalist Ron Baird formed the band in Oxnard, CA. As one of the "big four" Nardcore bands, alongside Dr. Know, Agression, and Ill Repute, Stalag 13 left a lasting impact on the global hardcore scene with their fast and melodic sound. The band released two early demo tapes in 1982 and 1983 before creating their groundbreaking 1984 album In Control, which became their sole official release during their short but influential career in the 1980s.
