Days Of The White Owl marked a pivotal moment for The Nerve Agents. With the addition of guitarist Zac Hunter (formerly of Santa Cruz cult favorites Fury 66) and bassist Dante Sigona, the band’s sound evolved into something darker and more unique. Sigona’s influence brought a gothic edge, blending the band’s early hardcore roots with inspiration from 45 Grave and Subhumans. The result was a distinctive sound characterized by discordant basslines, haunting piano interludes, and guest vocals from AFI’s Davey Havok.

The album’s release also marked a turning point for the band’s live shows, which became inclusive spaces where straight-edge kids, street punks, goths, and everyone in between could come together. Performing alongside AFI, Tiger Army, 7 Seconds, and The Explosion, The Nerve Agents played on larger stages across the Bay Area and Southern California, as well as iconic venues like CBGB on the East Coast.

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Days Of The White Owl in 2025, the album is now available in a deluxe edition. The reissue features a gatefold jacket with a full-color obi strip and a 20-page booklet containing photos, flyers, and writings from fans and scene luminaries. It also includes the rare bonus track “Bitter Seed,” originally released on the The Way It Should Be compilation in 2001 and unavailable in any format since.
