Emerging from the London and Brighton hardcore scenes, Turn Of Phrase have quickly established themselves as one of the UK’s most promising new hardcore bands. Following a demo and two songs on a split 7" with New York City hardcore band Square One, they return with seven new tracks on their debut 12" EP, “Out In The Water.”
Musically, the band blend fast, melodic hardcore with influences from early-2000s hardcore and ’90s emo. The songs combine direct energy, melodic guitars, and emotional dynamics.
Lyrically, vocalist Logan Grant explores friendship, love, and the importance of staying present. “Out In The Water” reflects on past mistakes, uncertainty, and the need to keep moving forward despite not knowing what comes next.
